The project BICIGUSTANDO created to promote awareness of local products and to enhance the wonderful land of Marche region.
This project allows you to visit the Marche region through predetermined routes and bike rental possibilities for everyone from beginners to professionals.
TerritorY
Piceno: a territory crossed by the smooth hills that go from the Sibillini mountains to the golden beaches of the Adriatic Sea; a landscape wisely made by time and by the man, a rich cultural and natural heritage, two National parks, a lot of historical towns rich in masterpieces of art, industrial areas born on traditional artisan activities, from the beach to the mountains a wide range of typical products and traditional plates, a proper sense of welcome and hospitality by its inhabitants.
CITIES OF ART
Diverse are the villages on the Piceno, from the cities to the Medieval villages, that have a historical, artistic and cultural interest: archaeological areas, Roman and Medieval bridges, Churches, buildings, cloisters, abbeys, towers, squares, museums, art galleries, that talk about 3.000 years of history and testify the value of local artists and “masters” that during the last centuries have lived here.

THE HINTERLAND
From the landscape of the wide Tronto Valley to those of the smooth hills, to the calanchi up to the snowy tops of the Sibillini Mountains; vineyards, olive tree groves, cornfields and sunflowers fields, chestnut trees fields, canyons, marvelous falls, maple and beech woods; from the ancient legends of the Sibillini Mountains to the history of "Castles”, up to the farmer and marine traditions.

Prestigious artisan traditions, have become industrial activities, giving birth to typical industrial areas: from the shoe factory districts, where are made the best national shoes, to the hat district that distinguish itself even for the production of refined accessories, up to the agroindustrial district, characterized by numerous wine cellars and firms linked to the production and preservation of the typical products of this land.
To do shopping in the Piceno area also means to visit the ancient artisan small shops where it is worked the prestigious “ pottery by Ascoli”, to discover, walking to little streets, the women from Offida working outdoor the elegant “tombolo” laces ( lace pillow) or the women from Acquaviva that wave together straw baskets; it means to find out old small shops where it is still possible to buy “homemade” cheese and cured meats , made according to ancient recipies.
wINE & FOOD
The Piceno area is appreciated even for its wine and food and for the diversity of products and tastes: from truffles and mushrooms, cheese and cured meats, oil and DOC wines that you can discover crossing the Rosso Piceno Superiore Road, the green fish from the Adriatic Sea.
Items that give birth to typical dishes from the Piceno tradition, from the stuffed and fried “ascolana” olive, to the “brodetto” ( a soup with fish) typical from San Benedetto del Tronto, the Campofilone maccheroncini to the sweet mushrooms from Offida.
